crazy pants.

i liked my lace pictures so much i decided i need to use that little vignette as a backdrop for something. i haven't photographed any headbands in a loooooong time...mostly because i have sold way more of them at shows and privately rather than online. and let's face it, photographing and writing descriptions repeatedly for headbands is kind of a pain. especially when i feel it's necessary to describe their tattery goodness in painfully minute detail. anyway, here's one of my favorites at the moment... i love the pale, pale, pale pink femina ostrich plumes, the way they curl just a tiny bit at the tips! true to my word, i played around with a few self ports this evening. so many times i end up looking like i have 'crazy eyes'...when it feels all the world like i'm just gazing at something.

had to call the mister and the pup over for some family picture action. we're geeks.

by the way, it's hard to get a chihuahua to smile and look at the camera. mr. p tends to look floppy and glazed over whenever we hold him for pictures. go figure.

it was like a million degrees today. and by a million i mean, like, 95. which is waaaay to hot for april 18th. the excessive sweating has begun. nevermind the fact that i sweat excessively by hereditary factors and also as a side effect of the cybalta that i take. so, i'm like, awash in perspiration. this may be the summer that kills me. i say that every year, but seeing as how we haven't had rain in almost 4 months, it could be true.

this past weekend i hit up some estate sales (as usual) and ended up with some 'grab bags' of junk. you know, like, bags of old buttons, wads of old lace, ribbon, string, broken jewelry....that kind of thing. usually, i'll go through the bags (after purchasing, of course), pick out what i want/can use, and then toss the rest back in the bag and put it in my de-stash suitcase that i take with me to shows for other people to pick through. well, i had made some little piles of the buttons (organized by color, naturally) and had some extra ribbon and bits and bobs and so i decided to make my own little grab bags to take to Max's Haus. i found some old clear cellophane bags (the crispy, crackly kind, not like plain ziplock bags) and i filled each with a sweet little mix of vintage buttons and odds and ends and closed them up with little homemade crown stickers, piled them in a pretty pink vintage bowl, and took them down to the shop. they're so lovely and full of promise (and cheap!)....i love sharing my little bits and bobs with other folks that will make good use out of them! so far, the prices on each little package range from $1 to $4, depending on the contents), so it's quite a bargain i think. i can't wait to get back in my workshop and pack up more. pics to come!
