so much going on! the holiday season is officially here in katinka-ville....i'm back at the SM Farmer's Market (except not this coming saturday, i'll be shopping at my secret flea market) and i've signed on to set up every thursday at the Keep San Marcos Beautiful Fall Concert Series. I'm pretty excited about the concert tonight...there are 3 bands playing, all new to me but with one, Zlam Dunk!!, purported to be playing what they refer to as Dance Punk (hence Dunk!!) you know i'm going to be jim-jamming at my table. and by jim-jamming i mean Rocking Out. I've got a few new Long Walk Home necklaces in le shop (as well as being available at my set-ups) and i'm overwhelmed with joy to be debuting something a little new, too! (more on that later)
i recently did a little commission work for the lovely Heather of Audrey Eclectic:
she mailed me a sweeter than sweet cross that had belonged to her great-grandmother and asked if i would mix it up al la Katinka into something she could wear everyday. i put the cross on my workbench and the little hand just seemed drawn to it. the little heart, with it's timeworn surface, reminded me a bit of heather's wonderfully rustic prairie-land painting style...and, of course, every girl needs a little vintage rhinestone bling. i found a wonderfully patina-ed vintage gold-fill chain and the whole thing came together flawlessly. i couldn't have been more pleased. except...i was even more excited because i traded the parts + labour for two of heather's pirate themed prints! i've decided i need to start a collection of nautical + pirate themed art and Adele and A Pirate at Heart seemed like the perfect jumping off point.
lastly, i leave you with a petite little trio of charms, Priere, or prayer in french. i found this little virgin mary charm at an estate sale in seguin a few weeks ago and couldn't be more pleased with how sweet and peaceful she seems with her wee sparrow and frosty white iolite drop. la!
