i dressed in my tattery bridal finest and waved and hooted and hollered......and got really sweaty.
we had police escorts to stop traffic at all the intersections....and i must say it felt like a grand thing to see the frontage roads of I-35 come to a standstill as we all made quite a scene.
minor mishap marching band led the way....and if you've never walked along side a marching band, then i highly suggest you try it sometime!
if you aren't familiar with the wonderment of MMMB, i offer you this quick glimpse from the parade:
on a slightly different note, my mom is moving into the haus next door to us which is strange and nice all at once. i have a feeling i will take advantage of the fact that she cooks and has, thus far, always been willing to share her meals. i don't have much of a kitchen so i don't do alot of food prep. also, making food has always made me a little lightheaded, a little dizzy. making sammiches and salads is okay....i can make a mean muffaletta, bien sur. but put me in front of a stove with boiling pots and baking casseroles and i'll likely need a fainting couch. i'm not saying i CAN'T cook...i just don't care for the way it makes me feel. i'll have you know that i've made many a successful holiday meal in a 1920s combo gas/wood-burning stove with no temperature regulator. i just start up a flame, stick the food in, pull up a chair and read while i peek in every so often to see when everything's done. never fails. i've been told this is a feat not everyone can accomplish.
lastly, have you familiarized yourself yet with AirBnB? it is amazingks! i am even more excited about traveling in the upcoming months for shows now that i have found some incredible people/places to stay with/at. and hey, if you happen to have a spare bedroom lying around, you might just consider putting it up for nightly adoption and make a few bucks. ♥

It was perfect! Thanks for your post- made me remember all over again how much fun we had. That traffic stopping thing was pretty sweet. :) Oh, and thanks for trading lollies with me!♥
On your planned trip to SF, let me quote from a song from the 1960s:
"If you're going to San Francisco,
be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
If you're going to San Francisco,
you're going to meet some gentle people there!"
Seemed appropriate...
